Summer is a time for reading. Not paddle boarding, not kite-surfing, not even swimming — r e a d i n g. If you haven’t picked out a few summer reads yet, I really don’t want to shame you, but I’m writing this with pursed lips and a kind of pained/concerned look on my face just thinking about it. The best book I’ve read so far this year is Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar, with The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver being a close second — so feel free to start with one of those if you’re stuck, OR with one of the staff reccs that you’ll find below. Read on for more news of an exciting sale, and some other great stuff.
Warehouse Sale!
I just read those sale prices for the first time, and my eyes seriously widened. My brows are RAISED! Like, wow. 8 books for $20??? It’s clear — you have to get down to 106 Ontario Street, this weekend (July 11th, 12th or 13th), and take full advantage of this crazy deal. The sale runs from 10am until 5pm daily, and, well … the poster below speaks for itself. There are no more excuses for lacking a summer read! See you there.

Harvey’s Reading Club
Russell Books is pleased to resume our partnership with Victoria HarbourCats Baseball Club! To celebrate the opening day of the season and encourage more young readers, we're inviting local students to turn their daily reading into baseball tickets.
Through recording 15 hours of reading on a Harvey's Reading Club Reading Log, students can exchange their hard work for two free adult ticket vouchers — valid for any 2025 HarbourCats regular season home game. Head to our website to print out a Harvey’s Reading Log!
